Loving and Living Joyously in the Body You Have Right Now

Body Love Workshop

An Intimate One – Day Event

with Gwen Mazer

“I’m too fat.” “Ugh, more wrinkles – I look so old.” AHHH! Who is That?”

When most women catch sight of themselves in the mirror each morning, what they say to themselves is rarely kind.

Blind to their own special attributes, they compare themselves to the narrowly defined images of beauty portrayed in the media. They expect the muscle tone and build of a supermodel, flawless skin, snow-white teeth, and perfectly behaved hair. They judge anything less perfect as a sign of weakness at best … and a unforgivable character flaw at worst.

The inevitable result? Frustration. Self-criticism. Insecurity and self-consciousness.

The relentless exposure to negative thoughts and feelings chips away at self-esteem. It can even damage health, leading to depression, unsafe health habits and, in extreme cases, eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia. Worst of all, it robs women of the boundless joy and passion of living.

Loving and Living Joyously in the Body You Have Right Now helps women create awareness and appreciation of broader, more encompassing ideas of beauty. Participants will learn how to release their negative self-talk, replacing it with awe for the miracle of what their bodies can do. They’ll discover joy in the infinite variety of body shapes, sizes, color and beauty that is unique to each woman.

Participants will discover:

  • How your general emotional state affects your feelings about your body
  • How to appreciate and love your body for the miracle it is
  • How to change your private ” self- talk “
  • How to release your idea of the “ perfect body “
  • How to enhance your own special beauty
  • How to create a loving relationship with your appearance through visualization
  • How to release the perception that your personal worth is tied to your looks

Workshop Activities

Workshop participants will engage in a variety of activities designed to increase awareness of the thoughts, feelings, and limiting ideas they may hold about their body image and beauty.

The Body Image Collage Process© is a key component of the workshop that enables the women to explore the ideas and images they may hold … and replace them with images that create feelings of empowerment and well being.

Participants will also engage other processes designed to uncover and shift the way they think about their bodies, including dialogs, writing exercises, and visualization.
